Jordan is the owner and head trainer of Mantra K9 Training. She has been involved in the dog industry for 7 years and has had a passion for working with dogs since she was small. Her parents originally nicknamed her Boo, but it soon developed into “Dr. Boo Little”.
Since then, she has been pursuing career opportunities that involved dogs. At the beginning of her journey, dog nutrition piqued her interest. She delved into her studies and emerged creating a personalized diet plan for her dogs and her interest only grew from there. Eventually, she was admitted to California Polytechnic University SLO where she majored in animal science, furthering her research in nutrition and veterinary medicine. She was offered a few opportunities as a vet tech at multiple veterinary hospitals and spent about a year pursuing her career in veterinary science. Until she found dog training, that is.
Dog training began as something that she did on her own with her personal dog, Mowgli, and—at the time—was just a hobby. Her hobby grew when she started attending various seminars and working alongside highly advanced trainers in order to learn different methods of training. Moving forward to today, she has trained Mowgli into becoming her service dog and furthers her research into the depths of the dog industry with her sport dog, Kronos. They have earned their entry title, PDC, with high score. Additionally, she has assisted in birthing and whelping many litters of puppies in hopes to better understand the relationship between genetics and behavior.
At Mantra K9 Training, we stand out for our commitment to providing comprehensive and effective training solutions for your beloved canine companions. For those preferring a more hands-on approach, our Private Lessons cater to clients within a 1-hour radius, offering an onboarding lesson and as many subsequent lessons as needed. We acknowledge the potential challenges of private lessons, and thus, we recommend combining both Board and Trains and Private Lessons for optimal results. This unique Hybrid Package provides the best of both worlds, efficiently achieving client goals while fostering owner development and confidence.
Our training methodology revolves around balanced techniques, utilizing various tools like slip leads, prong collars, e-collars, and positive reinforcement tools such as Treat and Trains. We implement the NePoPo method, tailoring our approach based on the individual needs and issues of each dog.
“We boarded our 10 month old German Shepard Mix puppy with Jordan for a 4-week board-and-train while we were away and could not be happier with the outcome- we really feel like the training has changed our life. Before training, Archer had zero recall, a protective nipping problem, and severe separation anxiety. Jordan worked to build his confidence, among other things, and in doing so those issues have gone away. We are now confident in taking him off-leash and out in public with us all the time. She was very professional, responsive, and assured us along the way. We received lengthy, detailed emails and videos multiple times a week of Archer’s progress, as well as what to expect next. We are so happy with Jordan and the training she provided. We truly feel our quality of life with Archer has improved so much since the board-and-train. Thanks Jordan!”
“Jordan is very supportive, knowledgable and she definitely put me at ease. My dog was can be very anxious in certain situations and struggled with dog-to-dog reactivity. I wanted to secure help for my dog, but I did not know what to expect when it came to a 3-week boarding session. Once I talked to Jordan over the phone, she answered all of my questions and explained the process to also manage my expectations. I felt very comfortable with leaving my dog in her care and valued the detailed updates she sent about my dog’s progress. When Jordan returned my dog home, she worked with my husband and me to help us feel comfortable with how to upkeep the training while we maintain our relationship with our dog. I am so grateful for Jordan and how encouraging when dealing with difficult situations.”
“Jordan boarded and trained our high anxiety GSD mix rescue and we are so grateful! Cosmo’s anxiety was so severe that it crippled his ability to be a dog. While his anxiety will never go away due to his breed mix (we think he’s a GSD-Aussie mix), Jordan equipped both us humans and Cosmo with tools to help manage it. We are able to take him for walks, and long runs now and we are able to manage him whenever guests come to visit. Jordan also helped transition Cosmo to a raw diet which did wonders for his digestive system. I can’t thank Jordan enough for her patience and guidance. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.”
“Jordan has transformed our dog’s training experience and has given us such peace of mind! Our 4-year-old rescue is a little reactive and had some behavior issues we wanted to address. We opted for a three-week board-and-train with Jordan and we were immediately astonished and thrilled with the results. Jordan sent us two check-ins per week with updates and we added a fourth week at her recommendation, and we’re so glad we did! Before training, we would have to put all our weight into dragging our dog away from other dogs on walks, and now, thanks to Jordan, we have the tools and training to have him sit safely while other dogs pass. He is the same sweet guy, but he’s much safer and happier now and we’re so grateful to Jordan for preparing him for whatever comes his way!”

Board and Trains involve a 3-10 week immersive program with a go home lesson and follow-up session, while Private Lessons cater to clients within a 1-hour radius and include an onboarding lesson. Hybrid Packages combine both, offering the benefits of board and train alongside private lessons for a comprehensive approach.
Board and Trains include a 3-10 week stay, a go home lesson (1-2 hours), and a follow-up lesson (1 hour). Free pick-up is available within a 1-hour radius, with travel fees applied outside that range. Grooming is provided before drop-off, and owners must supply food, medication, treats, and flea/tick meds.
Private Lessons include an onboarding lesson and as many subsequent lessons as the client purchases. No travel fee is applied within a 1-hour radius, with a $30/hour fee outside that range. Private lessons post-board and train do not include an onboarding lesson (subtract $275 from total cost).
The training approach is balanced, utilizing tools such as slip leads, prong collars, e-collars, food, crates, Treat and Trains, longlines, and cots. The NePoPo method is employed, with the training approach tailored to the dog’s specific issues and their source.
Clients can expect responsibility for their dog’s success post-training. Positive and negative reinforcement are used, and tools are meant for lifelong use. Training is not a quick fix, and effort is required daily at home. Clients receive two email updates per week with videos and explanations, and communication is open and responsive, including emergency calls. Additional time may be required, with fees, to meet owner goals in board and train programs.
